In Europa-Park’s new Croatian themed area, the visionary inventor Nikola Tesla comes to life as an amazingly real character thanks to a groundbreaking collaboration between MACK One and the five-time Oscar-winning practical effects company Wētā Workshop from New Zealand. MACK One CEO Michael Mack and Wētā Workshop head Richard Taylor, whose credits include the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogies, were inspired by Nikola Tesla’s pioneering technical spirit:

The highly creative and technically skilled, 60 strong team have created a prototype with over 60 points of mechanical articulation, 25 of them in the head alone, and more than 2000 individual parts. With a detailed exterior design and the potential for real interactions, this figure is a prototype for the ‘animatronic of the future’.

Developed in cooperation with five-time Oscar winner Richard Taylor (Lord of the Rings, Avatar) and Wētā Workshop Artist Greg Broadmore, ‘Dr G – Victory on Venus’ will take you on a thrilling adventure. The VR experience catapults you to Venus, where war is raging between the nations of Earth over colonies in the early 20th century. Your arrival is accompanied by the British Lord Cockswain. With him, you will battle giant spiders, fearsome flying aliens, escape from the mouth of a giant centipede and escape just in time from devastating explosions.

‘Dr G – Victory on Venus’ in the stand-alone VR attraction YULLBE expands the world of Dr. Grordbrot with a fast-paced action adventure for all guests aged 12 and older.

Developed by MACK Interactive in collaboration with VR Coaster, the attraction promises a unique combination of thrilling drama and the thrill of a rollercoaster ride. For the new Coastiality adventure, the attraction has been equipped with new, state-of-the-art VR headsets and headphones that guarantee an immersive experience.

All passengers put on the VR headset in a pre-show room before the actual VR rollercoaster ride. The real, physical environment is recreated exactly in virtual reality, allowing visitors to board the train without any problems while wearing the VR headset. This is followed seamlessly by the actual VR ride on the rollercoaster.

In this film you will get an exclusive insight into the creation of the electrifying storytelling around the inventor Nikola Tesla, his groundbreaking invention Voltron and the Adventure Club of Europe.

Travel to Croatia with Michael Mack and the MACK Magic team in the footsteps of the inventor, who was born in 1856 in what is now Croatia. With unique footage from Croatia and from the set of the 4D film Voltron 4D, “Creating the Magic – The Voltron Story” shows how MACK Magic brings the exciting story to life. The making-of thus provides an exciting background insight into Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac, where visitors have been able to delve even deeper into Tesla’s world and experience his device in the form of an energetic roller coaster.

The interactive action adventure “Amber Blake: Operation Dragonfly” is conquering the virtual world and is set to become part of the latest VR attraction at Europa-Park from the start of the 2023 season. Based on the comic IP “Amber Blake”, written by Belgian supermodel Jade Lagardére, visitors aged 16 and older can look forward to a full body tracking free roaming VR experience that transforms the 2D comic series into an immersive 3D agent thriller and will offer a unique, distinctive experience.

The brand-new VR experience “Amber Blake: Operation Dragonfly” will be integrated into the unique VR world YULLBE and is based on the plot of the comic series and locations of the 3rd issue. Players will be plunged into a 30-minute interactive action movie featuring a badass female agent, a mysterious villain and a thrilling finale set against the stunning Singapore skyline.

YULLBE GO is a Free Roaming VR Attraction, enabling 50 guests per hour (theoretical capacity) to move through a virtual world in an 80 square meter room. The player’s hands and feet are tracked by specially developed hardware. As well as the attraction itself, we created the characters and storytelling for its content.

YULLBE PRO is a Free Roaming, Full Body Tracking VR attraction. Body, hands and feet are tracked to create a fully synchronous avatar in the virtual world. 40 guests per hour (theoretical capacity) can move freely through the virtual world in a 200-sqm room. As well as the attraction itself, we created the characters and storytelling for its content.

For 8-10 year old guests of Europa-Park, the novel series “Flying School of Adventurers” written by THiLO is the perfect fit! Created by MACK One together with publisher Coppenrath, the five available books match an exciting and adventurous story told within the universe of the Adventure Club of Europe, with new or upcoming attractions of the park.

MACK Magic developed the character Snorri as a key figure of the Rulantica storyworld and as the mascot for the waterpark of the same name. This six-armed octopus is probably the liveliest inhabitant of Rulantica: cheerful, mischievous, cunning – and sometimes cheeky. We have produced many stories, books, videos and radio plays around Snorri, who therefore in a short period of time became a beloved character for guests of all ages. There is even a dark ride at Europa-Park that was especially developed for Snorri.

In cooperation with Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg, one of Germanys most favorite tourist destinations, the team from MACK One created two special VR-Experiences for YULLBE PRO and YULLBE GO. Equipped with the VR gear, the guests can dive into the world of Miniatur Wunderland and experience a breathtaking journey through the miniature railway. 

To offer these experiences to their guests, Miniatur Wunderland opened its own YULLBE location in Hamburg. We’re really proud, that we made this unique collaboration between Europa-Park and Miniatur Wunderland happen and are pleased about the reactions of the customers every day!

At Europa-Park, the all-time favorite dark ride ‘Pirates in Batavia’ has re-opened after just two years of planning and construction. The team did a marvelous job and we are all so proud of the result. Like for many of our guests, this water boat ride represents our childhood, and working on something so personal and emotional has been a pleasure.

Our team, which put a lot of work, heart and soul into this project, is very proud of the publishers pick renaissance award for PIRATES IN BATAVIA!

For 45 years now, Europa-Park has been putting a smile on the face of its guests day after day. Ed, Edda and their friends have been there from the beginning. The ambassadors of the park are the most traditional brand in our portfolio and stand like nothing else for the magic of this unique park. Whether in the parade, the 4D cinema or the JUNIOR CLUB studios: Where Ed and Edda are, children’s eyes light up.

At Europa-Park, we designed a totally new ride adventure in the French themed area.

Around the dark-ride coaster visitors will now be greeted by a true-to-life replica of ”Moulin Rouge” evoking the times of the Belle Epoque. Guests will wonder through a waiting area with detailed decorations of ”Moulin Rouge” and Paris before embarking on a ride through illuminated Paris with the trains of Eurosat – CanCan Coaster. Visitors can experience the rich culture and history of the neighbouring country in a completely new way.

For Land of Legends, one of the best-known and most successful Theme Parks in Turkey, we developed a Design Concept for a MACK Rides Splash Battle, which fits perfectly into their existing surrounding. In close collaboration with their team, we delivered a functional masterplan and great designs suitable to the storyline. Thus, with Watermania we created a one of a kind attraction, ready to wow the guests of Land of Legends.

We created the award-winning, seasonal stand-alone event “Horror Nights – Traumatica” in proximity to Europa-Park. Drawing on our profound world-building experience, we created the complete post-apocalyptic story world of Traumatica, with unique characters, complex story lines and a variety of detailed settings. Playing with elements of horror and post-apocalyptic genres, we designed a totally new, fully immersive and thoroughly frightening experience for our thrill seeking, adult guests.

For many years, Europa-Park has been hosting the annual Horror Nights. Since 2017, MACK One has been telling the story of Traumatica, a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by vampires, werewolves and some survivors. The focus of the immersive event is the visitor. The extensive story world of Traumatica got expanded in 2018 with the character “Myra Moon Mistress”, a powerful goddess. You are able to experience her not only at the event, but also in a comic published by MackMedia.

Leon and Sophie’s grandma has a special secret: She breeds real dinosaurs! We tell Madame Freudenreich’s stories in different formats: Picture books, radio plays and a dark ride at Europa-Park including a store, which inspires with lovingly designed scenes, a great story and beautiful music.

Rulantica is a mystical Nordic island full of fantastic creatures such as mermen, kelpies, trolls and goblins. It is said that in a grotto there is even the source of life. The historical world was not only the basis of the gigantic indoor water world of the same name, which opened in Rust next to Europa-Park in 2019, but is also told in a novel series licensed by the Coppenrath publishing house.

Rulantica is the immersive storyworld developed by MACK One in close connection to the water world next to Europa-Park known by the same name. Three novels for the age group of 10-12 have been published with author Michaela Hanauer and Coppenrath publishing house, telling the dangerous story of Mats and Finja who have to free the island of Rulantica. www.rulantica-roman.de

We designed the entire Flying Theatre attraction Voletarium at Europa-Park. MACK One was responsible for the underlying storytelling, the exterior and interior design, and was involved in the production of the flying-film itself. With sketches, detailed designs, 3D renderings and technical planning, the foundation was laid to bring the story of the brothers Eulenstein and the first flight in the history of mankind to life.

This traditional theme park based in East Germany wanted a concept for a redesign for their complete park. The basic, generic concept around prehistoric dinosaurs was supposed to be elevated into something unique, in order to appeal to the whole family. In compliance with the client’s requirements for more attractions, design and appeal, we assessed which new attractions would be most fitting and what would be the best way for the guests to discover the park anew. With our profound experience and unique skills, we helped our client to get their park to a new exciting level.

Snorri Snorkling VR is a new and unique VR underwater experience created by MACK One. We developed the special hardware together with VR Coaster and used the MACK Magic IP to tell a great story about Snorri and his friends. The first installation of this new product opened in 2021 at Rulantica, the water world next to Europa-Park.

The idea of bringing Europa-Park to the cinemas has been around for a long time and has finally become reality with the collaboration of Pantaleon Films GmbH and Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany in cooperation with 2112 PICTURES, a MACK One label. We are very pleased that our managing director Michael Mack was allowed to participate as co-producer.
